The 2012–2015 Camaro LS/LT 3.6L V6 LFX engine makes 323 horsepower from the factory — an improvement over the earlier LLT. But GM continued the same design philosophy as before: a sound-suppressing resonator airbox that prioritizes cabin quiet over airflow. The result remains the same — restricted throttle response and a muted induction note.
Flashark's cold air intake replaces the stock airbox with a mandrel-bent black powder-coated aluminum intake tube, a high-flow washable conical filter, and a full-coverage heat shield. On a stock LFX V6, expect 5–10 WHP and noticeably sharper throttle response in the 3,000–5,500 RPM band. The induction sound becomes deeper and more aggressive during acceleration, while cabin noise at cruise stays near factory levels.
Installation is bolt-on, using the Camaro's factory mounting points — no cutting, no welding, no permanent modification. Budget 60–90 minutes with basic hand tools. Q: What's the difference between LLT and LFX — and which one do I have?
A: Both are 3.6L DOHC V6 engines, but with key differences. LLT (2010–2011): 304 hp, different intake manifold, different MAF calibration. LFX (2012–2015): 323 hp, revised intake manifold, flex-fuel capable. Check your engine cover label — "LFX" means this kit fits; "LLT" means you need FLIS25081.
Q: How much horsepower will I gain?
A: Expect 5–10 WHP and notably improved throttle response on a stock 2012–2015 Camaro 3.6L LFX V6. Claims of 15+ HP from an intake alone on the LFX are marketing, not physics — the 323 hp engine is already well-optimized from the factory.
Q: Do I need a tune after installing this intake?
A: No tune is required. The LFX ECU uses mass-airflow-based fuel calculation that automatically adapts to increased airflow. With exhaust headers or a larger throttle body, a professional tune is recommended.
Q: Will this cause a Check Engine Light (CEL)?
