What does the Exhaust Header do?

Boost Horsepower, Torque, and Save on Gas with Headers and Exhaust System Modifications!"

Replacing a vehicle’s headers and exhaust is a way to add horsepower and torque, and it will also increase your vehicle’s volume. Want a car that sounds like an American muscle car should? This header will help your vehicle achieve that and it can add up to 8-20 horsepower.

Install an exhaust system means about a 0.5 mpg gas mileage improvement. While that might not sound like much, consider this: If gas costs $3 a gallon, and you drive this truck 15,000 miles a year, you’re saving yourself about $85 a year on gas. In five years, you’ll have saved nearly enough money to pay for a complete cat-back exhaust system.

Exhaust Header VS Manifold, which is the better choice?

The structural differences between exhaust headers and manifolds are the material and size. From the material, exhaust headers are made of lighter, thinner steel, while exhaust manifolds are made of thick iron. Exhaust headers are also longer than exhaust manifolds. When in use, exhaust manifolds create back pressure, which lowers performance. Because each cylinder of the engine is given its own tube, however, headers eliminate this problem; thus, allowing the gases to exit without the creation of back pressure. Therefore, exhaust headers are a BETTER choice than an exhaust manifold.

Replacing or upgrading your exhaust header is necessary for both engine performance and sound. Whether on or off the track, exhaust headers provide more horsepower and improved exhaust sound. FLASHARK offers many products to help you create your own custom engine headers. It's really easy and convenient to use: direct bolt-on, no modification needed.

Perfect fit

Wow! I couldn't be more thrilled with how this turned out. The fit was darn near perfect. I've read countless reviews of people having to cut or modify these to fit their engine, or at minimum use ratchet straps or several buddies to force them into shape. Mine was able to fit on with just minimal persuasion with one hand.

Fit and finish is just outstanding. Added that nice boxer rumble too. Well worth it!

We are very glad that you like our products! Looking forward to receiving your feedback pictures or videos!

Pipey!

I Installed this header on an EJ22 in a 88 GL Wagon. Fitment is great, a little tight getting both primary flanges over the studs. but fairly effortless. I recommend starting with the driver side flange then flexing it over to install the passenger side flange. If installing on an EJ22 I recommend using a next gen oil filter for something like an 04 Subaru outback. (smaller diameter filter, more clearance around passenger side primary piping). Sound level is 11. Straight piped it is absolutely bananas, nice decel crackle/pop. Power wise, butt dyno says the power band comes in a little later , but is a bit broader. Pulls north of 6000rpm in 3rd gear much more easily than stock y-pipe. off idle take off feels great , power feels a little flat from a dig in 2nd/3rd gear 2000-3000rpm range.

Thank you for such heartfelt feedback, which we will pass on to our developers.

Really decent product

Overall the header is really decent, I would have given five stars but the bolts & nuts are useless & I had to "pry" the pipe flanges far over to fit properly but it still hits the oil pan. The welds & tuned piping is very good as are the gaskets. I will purchase again for next project vehicle: lifted 1997 Outback.

The rumble is back!

I absolutely love my car even more now. Fitment was great after fiddling around. My recommendation is making sure everything is lined up properly before tightening things down. Very happy with this purchase. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to get that iconic boxer rumble in their subi.

Thank you for your comment and I look forward to receiving your feedback pictures!
