Exhaust Header VS Manifold, which is the better choice?

The structural differences between exhaust headers and manifolds are the material and size. From the material, exhaust headers are made of lighter, thinner steel, while exhaust manifolds are made of thick iron. Exhaust headers are also longer than exhaust manifolds. When in use, exhaust manifolds create back pressure, which lowers performance. Because each cylinder of the engine is given its own tube, however, headers eliminate this problem; thus, allowing the gases to exit without the creation of back pressure. Therefore, exhaust headers are a BETTER choice than an exhaust manifold.

Cobalt headers

Look very nice. Only issue I ran into was I had to make two of the bolt holes bigger because they did not line up with the holes. Other then that I would recommend this product.

Hi, sorry for the late reply, what is the model and year of your car? And the engine model? Can you take pictures to show us the exact problem? We'll try our best to help you!

Perfect Fit, Exceptional Quality

Ordered this for my 2006 Cobalt LS 2.2 Manual Trans. The build quality is way nicer than I was expecting, the flange at the head is thick and sturdy. You will need an O2 sensor extender for the front oxygen sensor. (I made my own) I also replaced the manifold studs and nuts while I was there. Slid in, did take some maneuvering to get it all the way in, and the heat pipe that comes off of the thermostat housing had to be bent over a little to clear but other than that it was a perfect fit. Even the downpipe was perfect length to bolt to the rest of the exhaust. Would recommend again. Will be willing to buy future products as well.

Thank you for your comment and I look forward to receiving your feedback pictures!
