Exhaust Header VS Manifold, which is the better choice?

The structural differences between exhaust headers and manifolds are the material and size. From the material, exhaust headers are made of lighter, thinner steel, while exhaust manifolds are made of thick iron. Exhaust headers are also longer than exhaust manifolds. When in use, exhaust manifolds create back pressure, which lowers performance. Because each cylinder of the engine is given its own tube, however, headers eliminate this problem; thus, allowing the gases to exit without the creation of back pressure. Therefore, exhaust headers are a BETTER choice than an exhaust manifold.

Replacing or upgrading your exhaust header is necessary for both engine performance and sound. Whether on or off the track, exhaust headers provide more horsepower and improved exhaust sound. FLASHARK offers many products to help you create your own custom engine headers. It's really easy and convenient to use: direct bolt-on, no modification needed.

Great for the price

The headers overall are nice, I would recommend them for the price. Some things that threw me off were, the welds on the inside of the flange had some pretty bad undercut and weren't flush with that pipe walls. Also that the pipes were tacked to the flange on the outside and welded on the inside. Otherwise, the welds seem to seal and overall good. Another thing was that the headers are technically 2 pieces and its a tight fit and the 2 bolts hold it together. It was kind of hard to install but that was because I didn't want to remove my ac compressor nor the ac lines. What I did not expect was for the A pipes to be so long (bottom half) its about 10 inches longer than the stock manifold so some modifications need to be done to work with the stock exhaust pipe. It was a bit odd when it was shipped to me because it was wrapped in a thin layer of bubble wrap and the gaskets were free floating in the giant box, so some of the gaskets were a little bent but it worked out in the end.

I plan to get the exhaust here too but that isn't in the budget yet.
Otherwise I think this was a purchase that was worth my money.
For reference I installed this on a 1998 Acura Integra Gs (B18b1)
I wrapped mine but you can see the difference in size between this and the stock manifold.

The flange fit perfectly too.
