Exhaust Header VS Manifold, which is the better choice?

The structural differences between exhaust headers and manifolds are the material and size. From the material, exhaust headers are made of lighter, thinner steel, while exhaust manifolds are made of thick iron. Exhaust headers are also longer than exhaust manifolds. When in use, exhaust manifolds create back pressure, which lowers performance. Because each cylinder of the engine is given its own tube, however, headers eliminate this problem; thus, allowing the gases to exit without the creation of back pressure. Therefore, high-performance exhaust headers are a BETTER choice than an exhaust manifold.

Big block chevy headers

Took a chance on them, very nice workmanship, drivers side fit perfect, passenger side will need some work, it's an extremely tight side . I'll keep them for a future project

1965 impala 396 bbc

I like the quality of headers. The Right side fit perfect. The left side the #7 tube ( the back one) hit the power steering box pretty good. I dented the tube to fit. I decide I could make some custom motor mouth and move the motor back 1/2 inch which required me to adjust transmission mount also. Still needs a small flat to clear. Price was good so didn't feel bad making them fit. I would like to buy another set or just buy a left side. I think I can make my flat prettier and not so big since I moved motor back. Can't move it back far enough to clear back tube. The ones in front start to hit. I can send pics if that helps but I doubt you plan on changing that tube.
