Long Tube Headers:

Long tube headers are designed to replace the stock exhaust manifold of a vehicle. Compared to standard short tube headers or the factory manifold, long tube headers have longer primary tubes. This design allows for:

  • Improved Performance: By optimizing exhaust gas flow and reducing backpressure, long tube headers can significantly increase horsepower and torque.
  • Better Exhaust Scavenging: The extended length of the tubes helps with the efficient removal of exhaust gases from the cylinders, improving engine breathing.
  • Enhanced Sound: Long tube headers often contribute to a deeper, more aggressive exhaust note.

Application for Chevrolet C10:

  • The Chevrolet C10, part of the Chevrolet C/K line of trucks, was produced from 1960 to 2002. It's a classic American pickup truck that has become a favorite among restorers and hot-rodders.
  • Installing an LS engine in a Chevrolet C10 is a popular modification. This process, known as an "LS swap," involves replacing the C10's original engine with a more modern, powerful LS series engine.
  • The "Exhaust Header for C10 LS LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6 Long Tube" is specifically designed to fit these LS-engined C10 trucks, ensuring that the engine swap not only boosts performance but also fits well within the truck's chassis without modification issues.

Exhaust Header VS Manifold, which is the better choice?

The structural differences between exhaust headers and manifolds are the material and size. From the material, exhaust headers are made of lighter, thinner steel, while exhaust manifolds are made of thick iron. Exhaust headers are also longer than exhaust manifolds. When in use, exhaust manifolds create back pressure, which lowers performance. Because each cylinder of the engine is given its own tube, however, headers eliminate this problem; thus, allowing the gases to exit without the creation of back pressure. Therefore, exhaust headers are a BETTER choice than an exhaust manifold.
