The VR30DDTT twin-turbo 3.0L V6 is the heart of Infiniti's performance lineup — and from the factory, it's leaving serious power on the table. The stock downpipe routes exhaust through a tightly packed catalytic converter with a crush-bent neck-down that chokes flow at the most critical point in the entire exhaust system: right where the turbo meets the rest of the exhaust. That restriction raises exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs), slows turbo spool, caps midrange torque, and puts a ceiling on what your tuner can safely extract from the VR30.

This Flashark 2.625-inch (66.5 mm) catless downpipe replaces the factory downpipe from the turbo outlet flange to the mid-pipe connection. Constructed from 201 stainless steel with precision mandrel bends that maintain full internal diameter through every curve — no crimps, no neck-downs, no turbulence pockets. The polished stainless finish provides lasting corrosion resistance and a clean, professional look under the car.

The result is immediately noticeable: both turbos spool faster from a stop, midrange torque from 2,000 RPM gains a punch that the stock pipe chokes off, and the twin-turbo V6 exhaust note opens up to a deep, aggressive tone without cabin drone. When paired with a tune from Z1 Motorsports, Cobb, Ecutek, or UpRev, expect 15–25 wheel horsepower over a stock-downpipe tune alone.

This is a race-inspired performance part. It removes the factory catalytic converter and requires an ECU tune to operate without diagnostic codes. For off-road and competition use only — check your local regulations before purchasing.

Key Features

2.625" (66.5 mm) Mandrel-Bent Stainless Steel Tubing — Full 2.625-inch inner diameter from turbo flange to mid-pipe outlet. Smooth mandrel bends eliminate the crush-bent restrictions found on the factory downpipe, delivering measurably faster exhaust gas velocity and reduced backpressure across the entire RPM range. The larger diameter compared to the stock allows each VR30 turbo to exhale more efficiently

Catless Design (Race-Off-Road) — Removes the factory catalytic converter entirely. The OEM cat is the single largest flow restriction in the VR30 exhaust — eliminating it drops backpressure significantly, which directly translates to faster twin-turbo spool, stronger midrange torque, and higher peak horsepower with a proper ECU tune

Pre-Welded O2 Sensor Bungs — Oxygen sensor mounting points are pre-welded into the downpipe for plug-and-play installation of factory sensors. No welding, no drilling, no guessing sensor placement — thread in your factory O2 sensors and connect

Precision TIG Welding — Every joint is TIG-welded for full penetration and long-term durability at extreme exhaust temperatures. No MIG tack welds, no weak points that crack after thermal cycling — built to withstand repeated heat cycles from daily-driven and track-use vehicles alike

OEM-Style 3-Bolt Flange — Direct bolt-on replacement using the factory mounting points. No modifications, no adapter plates, no cutting required. The flange surfaces are machined flat for a leak-free seal against the turbo outlet

Polished Stainless Steel Finish — Professional polished finish looks clean under the car and resists corrosion from road salt, moisture, and thermal cycling. Solid stainless through and through — not a painted or coated mild steel pipe

Complete Hardware Kit Included — Every gasket, bolt, and nut required for installation is in the box. No trips to the hardware store, no sourcing missing parts — open the box and install

Direct Bolt-On Installation — Designed to bolt directly to the factory turbo outlet flange and connect to the stock or aftermarket mid-pipe. No cutting, no welding, no fabrication needed. Average install time is 2–4 hours with basic hand tools

Q: Will this fit my 2019 Infiniti Q50 3.0t Sport?

A: Yes. This downpipe fits all 2016–2024 Infiniti Q50 equipped with the VR30 3.0L Twin Turbo engine, including the Sport trim. The VR30DDTT is the same engine across all Q50 3.0t trim levels (3.0t, 3.0t Premium, 3.0t Sport). It bolts directly to the factory turbo outlet flange and connects to the stock or aftermarket mid-pipe — no modification required. Fits both RWD and AWD models.

Q: Will this fit my 2020 Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400?

A: Yes. This downpipe fits all 2017–2024 Infiniti Q60 models with the VR30 3.0L Twin Turbo, including the Red Sport 400. The Red Sport 400 uses the same VR30DDTT engine as the standard 3.0t — the higher power output comes from factory boost and tuning, not a different exhaust layout. The downpipe bolts on identically across all Q60 trim levels.

Q: Do I need a tune after installing this downpipe?

A: Yes, absolutely required. This is a catless downpipe — it removes the factory catalytic converter. Without an ECU tune, your Infiniti will immediately trigger a check engine light (CEL) for catalytic converter efficiency below threshold. You need a tuning solution such as Z1 Motorsports, Cobb (Accessport for Infiniti), Ecutek, or UpRev to disable the secondary O2 monitoring and retune fueling and boost targets for the increased exhaust flow. The tune is also what unlocks the full 15–25 WHP power gains — a downpipe without a tune leaves most of the potential untapped.

Q: Are these downpipes catted or catless?

A: Catless. This downpipe removes the factory catalytic converter entirely for maximum exhaust flow. This product is designed for off-road, track, and competition use only. Street use on public roads may violate federal and state emissions laws — particularly in California and other emissions-controlled states. Check your local regulations before purchasing.

Q: Do the factory O2 sensors bolt right in?

A: Yes. The O2 sensor bungs are pre-welded into the downpipe at the correct position for the factory sensors. Simply unscrew your O2 sensors from the stock downpipe and thread them into the Flashark bungs during installation. No welding, no drilling, no splicing required. The ECU tune handles the sensor adjustment for the altered readings on a catless setup.

Q: How much horsepower will I gain?

A: With a proper ECU tune, expect 15–25 wheel horsepower and 15–30 lb-ft of torque over a stock-downpipe tune on the VR30 3.0L Twin Turbo. The gains come from three sources working together: (1) the catless downpipe eliminates the largest exhaust restriction, allowing the turbos to spool faster and breathe more freely, (2) the tune increases boost pressure and optimizes timing for the reduced backpressure, and (3) lower EGTs mean the turbos can sustain peak output longer without heat soaking. Gains are most noticeable in the 2,500–6,000 RPM range.

Q: Can I install this myself?

A: Installation is bolt-on but requires mechanical experience, proper tools, and access to a lift or jack stands. Plan 2–4 hours. Key steps: raise the vehicle, remove underbody panels, disconnect O2 sensors, unbolt the factory downpipe from the turbo flange and mid-pipe connection, install the Flashark downpipe with the supplied gaskets and hardware, and reconnect the O2 sensors. Soak all factory exhaust fasteners in penetrating oil 24 hours before the job — the factory bolts seize easily. Professional installation is recommended if you have not worked on an Infiniti exhaust system before.

Q: How does this compare to Z1 Motorsports or AMS downpipes?

A: The Z1 Motorsports catless downpipe for the VR30 costs $450+, and the AMS Performance version runs $700+. Both use stainless steel construction and comparable piping diameter. The Flashark delivers the same fundamental benefit — unrestricted catless flow with pre-welded O2 bungs, TIG welding, and complete hardware — at roughly one-third the price of Z1 and one-fifth the price of AMS. The trade-off: Z1 and AMS offer longer warranty terms and brand-specific tuning support. Flashark includes a 2-year warranty and US-based email support.

Q: What's the material — will it rust?

A: This downpipe is constructed from 201 stainless steel with a polished finish — solid stainless throughout, not painted or coated mild steel. 201 stainless steel provides good corrosion resistance against exhaust condensate, moisture, and moderate road salt exposure. For vehicles in heavy salt-belt states, periodic undercarriage rinsing during winter months helps maintain the polished appearance. The 2-year warranty covers material defects.

Q: Will this pass emissions inspection?

A: No. This catless downpipe removes a federally mandated emissions control device. It will fail a visual inspection (missing catalytic converter), an OBD-II scan (secondary O2 sensor codes), and a tailpipe sniffer test where applicable. This product is intended for off-road, competition, and track use only. If your state performs emissions testing (California, New York, Colorado, parts of Texas, etc.), do not install this downpipe on a street-registered vehicle.

Q: Do I need to upgrade anything else when installing this downpipe?

A: The minimum requirement is an ECU tune from a reputable VR30 tuner (Z1, Cobb, Ecutek, UpRev). Beyond that, common Stage 2 supporting mods for the VR30 include: an aftermarket intake (Z1 Motorsports dual intake, JWT, or Stillen), high-flow air filters, and a cat-back or axle-back exhaust to maximize the flow benefit from the downpipe. The VR30 responds extremely well to combined intake + downpipe + tune — that combination is the sweet spot for bolt-on power on this platform.

Q: What's your return policy and warranty coverage?

A: Flashark offers a 30-day return policy — if you're not satisfied, return the downpipe in unused, original condition for a full refund with no restocking fee. For installed products, contact our support team at support@flasharkracing.com and we'll work with you on a resolution. The downpipe is covered by a 2-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects including weld cracks, flange warping, and material issues. This warranty does not cover damage from improper installation, collision, or misuse. US-based email support is available for fitment questions, installation guidance, and warranty claims.
