The factory intake on the 2015-2020 Ford F-150 5.0L Coyote was built to keep the engine quiet and the production line simple, not to maximize airflow. The stock airbox, corrugated inlet hose, and flat paper filter create turbulence and restriction right where the 5.0L V8 needs air the most. This Flashark cold air intake replaces the entire factory system with a 3.5" mandrel-bent aluminum tube, an oversized conical dry cotton filter, and a black powder-coated heat shield that seals the filter away from engine-bay heat.
The smooth, black powder-coated tube delivers a cooler, denser charge to the throttle body while the open-element filter lets the Coyote V8 breathe freely. Throttle response improves, mid-range acceleration feels stronger, and the 5.0L develops a deeper, more aggressive intake note under load. No tune is required — the factory PCM adapts automatically. Installation is bolt-on with basic hand tools in about 45-60 minutes.
